A Circle of Life Christmas Play 2007

September 2007 saw the start of rehearsals for our Christmas Community play "A Circle of Life" an adaptation of the much loved Musical and Film "The Lion King".

With the help of funding from Ealing Council we were able to work with a cast of 54 children aged from 5yrs-17yrs. We rehearsed for 3months solid, finally putting on spectacular performances on two consequetive nights.

We even had one child travel all the way from Elephant and Castle, South London to perform with us after he attended a Week of Dance in the October holidays orgnised by Margaret Noel of Descendants Youth Group .

The Lion King is a brilliant film, the sense of humor is great and can be adaptated easily for children. So many children wanted main character parts and this play allowed us to cater for all the children giving all of them an opportunity to shine.

We had a team of parent volunteers who worked really hard to create beautiful costumes, scenery and backdrop.

The Mayor of Ealing as well as community Police and teachers were among our special guests. Everyone loved the show and one woman even put our show in the same league as the West End show of The Lion King, but said ours was extra special as it was done by children.
